For this laptop, I didn't want much power. I needed something for browsing and such, and I needed something light with good battery life. This works great for that purpose. It is less than 5 pounds (nowhere as light as ultrabooks, but they cost twice as much), and the battery lasts a really long time (6-8 hours easily). It comes with all the usual ports, and one USB3 port. One of the USB ports (the USB3 port actually) can also charge other devices (such as your phone or ipod) even when the laptop is switched off. That is a great feature that I like (there is a flip side of that though - if you have a mouse connected there it will unnecessarily drain the battery power even when the laptop is switched off). The unit is pretty slick, the keyboard is nice, sound is good, if not very loud.
The only drawback on this unit is the screen. The screen can only be rated average at best. The colors are off, and the viewing... Read more

This notebook has a quality built, unlike the low end Acer laptops with flimsy keyboard.
The only con is bloatware, too much bloatware for a med-high end laptop. Yes, I consider this a mid-high end laptop.
Works great once I uninstalled all the junk.

For now, it has performed quite exceptionally! I set it up at around 2pm and once it was fully charged, unplugged the charger. It has now been about 5 hours (without the cord plugged in) and it still has about 35% remaining. Compared to dad's old laptop, this is good!
He specifically asked for a long battery life feature and I definitely found him one. Everything has been working fine but have not used the computer long enough for me to find out if something is wrong.
